A remarkable run of five state tournament trophies in seven years came to an end with a second-place finish in 1983, and many of the players on this team were intregral players in that stretch. This team also had the second-most victories in a season with 36.

On behalf of the 1983 QND volleyball team, I want to thank the Quincy Notre Dame Hall of Fame Committee. It is indeed an honor to take our place among the legends in school history. It’s hard to believe it’s been 23 years since that memorable 1983 season. That team was one of the most balanced squads I have ever coached. We were 12 deep in players who all saw considerable playing time. Thanks to everyone responsible for this selection. — Bill Starkey
