1986 Boys Soccer

1986 Boys Soccer Team

Inducted 2014. The head coach had left the school, and two players who went on to play professional soccer had graduated. It would have been understandable to think that the success of the 1985 state championship soccer team would be impossible to duplicate. Well, the 1986 team nearly pulled it off.

Erika Sutton Old

Erika (Hugenberg) Sutton

Inducted 2014. Sutton first grabbed attention on the softball field as a freshman, posting a 10-3 record and a 0.55 earned run average for QND as it posted a 23-6 record and reached the 1993 Class A state tournament.

Girls Soccer Team 2000

2000 Girls Soccer Team

Inducted 2014. The Quincy Notre Dame girls soccer program has developed into one of the state’s best, but it didn’t start to earn statewide notoriety until the late 1990s. The Lady Raiders won sectional titles in 1997 and 1998, but they won their first 27 games in 2000 and made it to the single class state tournament.

Ray Heilmann

Inducted 2014. Heilmann will be remembered by many for his 39 years in education at Quincy Notre Dame, but few remember how it all started. The Chicago native came to Quincy after graduating from Northern Illinois. He took his first job at Catholic Boys High School as an English teacher and a football coach.

Audra Fox Old

Audra (Frericks) Fox

Inducted 2014. One number may best define Fox’s soccer career. That number would be eight, as in the number of losses QND suffered during her four years in the program. Twice in that span, the Lady Raiders went undefeated in the regular season, and in 2000, they set the school record for victories with 27 as they placed fourth at the state tournament.

Scott Douglas

Inducted in 2014. The longest-tenured and winningest coach in the history of the Quincy Notre Dame boys basketball program, Douglas made good on QND’s willingness to hire someone who had never been a head coach.
